About Marsha Williamson Mohr
Marsha Williamson Mohr has actively been taking photographs for some twenty. She has had many of her photographs in publications such as Country, Farm and Ranch Living, Indiana and Virginia Tour Guides, on postcards, calendars, in books and catalogues. Her "Claim to Fame" is photographing rural scenes and structures, even though she will have an occasional mountain or autumn scene published. Marsha's photographs are recognized by her style. Her work composing these unique rural scenes are what she aspires for; viewing, striving, arranging over and over until it's perfect, with her own individual inventive technique. In 2010 her Indiana Barns book was published which in May the following year won her an IPPY Silver Medal in the Outstanding Midwestern Nonfictional category, and was presented in New York City. Her second book, Indiana Covered Bridges is to be released Sept 11, 2012. She has been honored by being selected to signature her books at the Indiana Historical Society’s yearly Author Fair in Indianapolis. In June of 2012 she was a winner of the Chasing the Light Juried Runner Up Award competition where individuals from all over the world entered. She was one of 25 winners. Two from Australia, one from the Philippines, one from the United Arabic Emirates and one from Canada were among winners. She participates in talks promoting rural America and is on a Save the Barn committee.
Marsha claims to have the best two jobs anyone could ask for. She is also a registered nurse working at a local hospital in acute care settings and at a surgery center giving direct patient care. The hands on caring, and making a difference in one role; being alone, photographing the country, seeing the sights and sounds of nature, and creating a massive library of images, in the other.
